Celebrating Kids in Our Community,
One Birthday at a Time
At Saving Seats, our heart has always been to make sure every child feels seen, celebrated, and cared for. And now, we’re excited to share a brand-new program: Birthday Cakes for Kids in Need.
So many families in our community are facing financial hardship, and something as simple as a birthday cake can feel out of reach. We want to help fill that gap. Starting this month, families who are experiencing difficult circumstances can request a birthday cake for their child, completely free.

How it works:
-
Teachers, Sunday school leaders, guardian ad litems, social workers, youth pastors, and community program directors and social workers nominate a child to receive a Birthday cake
-
We ask a few simple questions to make sure these cakes go to kids who truly need them.
-
Cakes are available for children in Baker County, Union, and Bradford.. Pickup instructions will be provided after your request is approved.

Our goal is to make birthdays feel special again, one child at a time.
If you’re a parent in need, or you know someone who could benefit from this program, we’re here to help.
And if you’d like to sponsor a child’s birthday cake and make a little magic happen — we’d love to have you involved.
Because every child deserves to be celebrated
About Our
Organization
Saving Seats is a community-focused organization built on one simple belief: life isn’t about building higher fences, it’s about building longer tables.
We connect people in our communities with practical help, meal kits, and opportunities to show up for one another.

And one of the most important ways we do that? Meal kits during school holiday breaks.Because those are the weeks when kids face the biggest food insecurity.
When school cafeterias close, breakfast and lunch programs pause… but hunger does not.
These kits are shelf-stable, easy to prepare, and include everything needed to make a full meal at home even for a teen or child helping take care of younger siblings.
School holidays should feel like a break not a stressful time for a child to figure out where their next meal will come from.
